San D’ Lux – Terms & Conditions

Location: 154 Ridge Road, Umhlanga, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa
By confirming a booking with San D’ Lux, guests and event hosts acknowledge acceptance of the following Terms & Conditions in full.

1. Bookings & Payments

San D’ Lux accepts reservations through approved online platforms (including Booking.com, Lekkerslaap, Airbnb, and others), as well as direct bookings and walk-ins, provided full upfront payment is made.

All payments must be made in full at the time of booking unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Accepted payment methods include:

  • EFT
  • Credit and debit cards (American Express accepted; Diners Club not supported)

Where applicable, bank charges on card refunds are non-refundable as the financial institution does not credit the business.

2. Check-In & Check-Out
  • Check-in: From 14:00
  • Check-out: By 10:00 (sharp)

Early arrival or late departure requests are subject to availability and may incur an additional fee. Special requests must be communicated directly to management before arrival.

Children aged 0–4 years stay free, provided this is communicated at the time of booking.

Guests may stay for extended periods, up to a maximum of 90 nights, unless otherwise agreed.

3. Accommodation Facilities & Amenities

San D’ Lux provides a collection of luxury facilities, which may include but are not limited to:

  • Bar / Lounge
  • Business Centre
  • Conference and meeting facilities
  • Outdoor pool
  • Free secured parking
  • Wi-Fi is available throughout the property

No pets are permitted on the premises.

4. Event Hire – Duration, Setup & Teardown

All venue hire includes a structured allocation of time:

Bookings up to 30 Guests
  • 1 hour setup
  • 3 hours event time
  • 1 hour teardown and cleanup
Bookings over 30 Guests
  • 1 hour setup
  • 5 hours event time
  • 1 hour teardown and cleanup

Additional time will incur a fee of R1,000 per hour, which will be billed to the booking party.

5. Venue Staffing

San D’ Lux provides oversight staff only.
Unless stated otherwise, staff are not responsible for:

  • Serving food or beverages
  • Cleaning during or after the event
  • Washing cutlery, crockery, glassware, or catering equipment

Hosts are required to arrange their own serving, clean-up, and support personnel.

6. Catering & Use of Venue Facilities

San D’ Lux does not provide cutlery, crockery, food service equipment, or use of the venue’s kitchen facilities.

The following rules apply:

  • No use of the venue’s kitchen items, utensils, glassware, plates, or service equipment is permitted.
  • All food preparation must occur off-site.
  • No cooking, braaiing, gas burners, stoves, or open flames are permitted on the property.
  • Bain-maries may be used strictly to keep food warm.

Any damage, loss, or breakage to venue property will be charged in full.

7. Damage & Breakage

Should damage to the property, décor, furniture, equipment, fixtures, or facilities occur:

  • A standard charge of R2,000 will be billed for breakage.
  • If losses exceed this amount, the booking party will be invoiced for the full replacement or repair cost.

All charges must be settled within 7 days of notification.

8. Noise, Music & Neighbour Consideration

San D’Lux is situated in a quiet residential area, and respectful conduct is essential.

The following rules apply:

  • Background music only – at reasonable residential volume.
  • No DJs, live bands, microphones, or large sound systems are allowed.
  • All sound must comply with local noise regulations and management instructions.
Municipal Quiet Hours (Ethekwini Regulations)
  • Sunday–Thursday: 21:30–07:00
  • Friday–Saturday: 22:00–08:00

If requested to reduce noise, the booking party must comply immediately. Failure to do so may result in the event being stopped without refund, and additional measures taken to restore acceptable conditions.

9. Smoking Policy

San D’ Lux upholds a smoke-free environment across all accommodation rooms, event spaces, and adjoining outdoor areas unless designated otherwise by management.

Smoke detectors are operational throughout the building. If activated due to prohibited smoking or activity, the booking party will be liable for:

  • Property damage
  • Emergency service call-outs
  • Professional cleaning or repair
  • Any other related expenses
10. Pool Use

The outdoor pool is provided for guest enjoyment. Usage is strictly at the guest’s own risk.

San D’ Lux accepts no responsibility for:

  • Injury
  • Drowning
  • Accidents
  • Damage caused by misuse

Children must be supervised at all times.

11. Parking

Limited parking is available on-site. For larger events, guests may be required to park at a nearby public parking facility.

Street parking may not be available or permitted.
Transportation arrangements remain the responsibility of the booking party.

12. Corporate Bookings & Meal Packages

Corporate reservations may include meal allocations that are arranged in advance:

  • Breakfast
  • Lunch pack + soft drinks
  • Dinner
  • Dinner + soft drinks

Where such allowances apply, they will be documented in the reservation.

13. Cancellations, Deposits & Refunds
Standard Accommodation Deposits
  • Stays of one night or longer: 100% deposit
Accommodation Cancellation Fees
  • Cancelling 30 days before arrival: 25% of the deposit is forfeited
  • Cancelling 21 days before arrival: 50% of the deposit is forfeited
  • Cancelling 14 days before arrival: 100% of the deposit forfeited
  • Cancelling 7 days before arrival or less: 100% of booking value charged
Event Cancellation Policy
  • More than 21 days before the event: Full refund
  • 8–20 days before the event: 50% refund
  • 7 days or less: No refund
  • No-show or early departure: No refund
Force Majeure

Cancellations arising from exceptional circumstances (such as severe illness, natural disasters, or emergencies) must be submitted through the original booking platform accompanied by supporting documentation. Refunds remain at management’s discretion.

Bank processing fees for card payments are non-refundable.

14. Responsibility of Guests & Hosts

The booking party is responsible for:

  • Ensuring all guests comply with property rules
  • Keeping sound within acceptable residential limits
  • Any damage or loss caused by guests, contractors, or suppliers
  • Completing all cleaning and teardown within the allocated time

San D’ Lux may terminate any stay or event without refund if behavior threatens:

  • The safety of staff or guests
  • The property
  • Public order or municipal compliance
  • The peaceful enjoyment of neighbors
15. Indemnity & Limitation of Liability

All guests, visitors, and event attendees enter and use the property at their own risk.

San D’ Lux, its owners, and its staff shall not be liable for:

  • Personal injury or death
  • Loss or theft of property
  • Damage arising from the misuse of the venue, pool, or facilities
  • Acts or omissions of contractors or third-party providers

The booking party agrees to indemnify San D’ Lux from any claims or legal actions arising from the conduct of:

  • Themselves
  • Their guests
  • Their suppliers
  • Their service providers

All terms are upheld in alignment with South African standards for fair business practice and guest protection.

16. Acceptance of Terms

By completing a booking, the guest or event host:

  • Confirms they have read and understood these Terms & Conditions
  • Accepts them in full
  • Acknowledges that these conditions govern their stay or event at San D’ Lux

These terms apply to every booking unless otherwise stated in writing by management.
